This book was inspired by the real questions, worries, and application problems I see students and families face every year. Some questions are big: “Where do I even start with my college list?” or “How do I know which schools are actually target schools for me?”

Others are specific but still important: “How do I enter a repeated course in the UC application?” or “When do I get my financial aid from FAFSA?” [Spoiler: FAFSA does not send any money. It helps determine eligibility, and colleges use that information to create financial aid offers.]

The California College Playbook helps you answer the big strategic questions and handle the practical details of putting together your strongest application. I wrote this book to be the guide I wish every student had before application season begins.
